The theme of the third edition of the Universite d’ete is « La Méditerranée, espace de dialogue interculturel ». It is within the scope of the general thematic claimed for the year of 2008: European Year of Intercultural Dialogue, addressing the concern of promoting Intercultural Exchanges in the heterogeneous space, which is the Mediterranean Area. Two Hundred talented and motivated French speaking youth representatives of the Civil Society of the Euro- Mediterranean area, together with renowned experts, will share their professional experiences and will have the possibility of discussing, sharing ideas and globally reflect on the promotion of Intercultural Dialogue in a world marked by diversity.

Conferences and Workshops will allow the participants to address the issue of Intercultural Dialogue in the Euro- Mediterranean area. Each participant will be able to find ground to debate according to his personal preferences, priorities, and personal objectives, both professional and associative.

The following workshops will be held:

1. Human rights and democracy : l’Europe peut-elle être un modèle ?

2. migration flow : menaces à la sécurité ou socle du co-développement ?

3. Young people, culture et communication : instruments indispensables au dialogue entre sociétés.

4. Past, present and future : le poids de l’Histoire dans les relations euro-méditerranéennes.

5. Islamism, secularity, laicism : quelle place pour la religion dans l’espace méditerranéen?

6. Sustainable development in the Euro- Mediterranean area

7. Practical development of projects and Financing
