The Youth Branch of the Greek Association for Atlantic & European Cooperation was established in 1993 aiming to activate university and high-school students in Greece in the fields of expertise related to the operation of G.A.A.E.C.
We aim to educate them on the transatlantic dimension of international relations of Greece. In addition to this we promote healthy debates and the share of ideas, which can contribute to raise awareness of key issues.
The activities of GAAEC provides the Youth Branch the necessary worldwide background to work effectively in today’s world. In cooperation with its international partners and local universities the Youth Branch of GAAEC managed to bring together all those students and young professionals who are interested and active in the field of international relations not just in Greece, but also on a global scale.

GAAEC at The 7th Economic Forum of Young Leaders Poland, 3-7 September, 2012
For one more year, Greek Association for Atlantic and European Cooperation sent young representatives to the Economic Forum of Young Leaders occurring on a yearly basis in Nowy Sacz, Poland and organized by European Meeting Centre-Nowy Staw Foundation. Our Organization was represented by Ms. Christina Zygakis, former intern and current member of GAAEC Youth. In the Forum about 350 young leaders participated from 42 countries. The participants also took part in various workshops concerning obstacles and opportunities for young leaders as well as solutions to the Euro zone crisis. Apart from the workshops, the young participants also attended eight big panels mainly discussing leadership skills, democracy, the role of the European Union in the international arena, the crisis in the Euro zone and young entrepreneurship. The panels consisted of European business leaders and high-ranked political officials, such as the Deputy Prime Minister of Hungary Tibor Navracsics and the President of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski. As the organizers' announcement reads, "During mutual discussions and workshops new ideas are developed, new inspirations are created and new decisions on taking mutual actions are taken. They are meant to generate a change in the future. It is here that future elites acquire their knowledge. [...] The Forum serves as a platform for the exchange of young people's views on the future of the European Union and the whole European continent. The mission of the Forum is to create ideas for the future of Europe. Each year, almost 350 young leaders from the East and West of Europe, representing 42 countries of the European Union, Eastern Europe, Balkans and the Caucasus participate in this dialogue. They represent civic, social, political and economic organizations". Besides, the Programme Director of the Forum declared as main objective "to make young people's Davos". This statement itself demonstrates the importance of this event. The event was broadcasted live on European Web TV (http://europeanweb.tv), to which Ms. Zygakis gave an interview. On Forum's last day, the participants spent their time in Krynica, where they attended the 22nd international Economic Forum, which took place on 4-6 September this year. Kyrica's annual Economic Forum is an event of primarily business character, yet it also discusses politics, such as democracy and European Union. Except for the main panels, hundreds of seminars occur in different rooms simultaneously. This year, almost 1200 senior participants appeared and more than 100 companies were represented.
