We are happy to announce that The 17th International Institute for Political and Economic Studies (IIPES), organized in cooperation with The Fund for American Studies (TFAS) has successfully started on Friday, July the 20th. As every year IIPES occurs in Chania, Crete and brings together students from 25 countries.
In Opening Ceremony students were warm welcomed on behalf of Mr. Theodossis Georgiou, Chairman of G.A.A.E.C. and Prof. Dr. Aliki Mitsakos, Chair of Education Committee, GAAEC and introduced with IIPES history and expectations. G.A.A.E.C. Youth brunch that encouraged successful IIPES preparation was represented as well.
Prof. Dr. Anthony Sullivan, Prof. Dr. Joshua Mitchell, Prof. Dr. Petros Vamvakas and Prof. Dr. George Baourakis, Director General, MAICh, have given their introduction speeches. After first lectures the interaction between professors and students were amazing. Students were sharing their opinions and ideas and were making fruitful dialogs with professors.
During the first days students got amazing opportunity to see beautiful nature of Crete, to become familiar with Greek culture and history as well. Students enjoyed lunch at traditional Greek tavern and experienced Greek hospitality and delicious food.
GAAEC team is overjoyed that IIPES is gaining its goal, students coming from different cultures and backgrounds get closer and learn not just from scientific papers but furthermore from each other.
